RotoPlay's Basketball Face Off is a unique and exciting game to play for the fantasy basketball season. Face Off is a special head-to-head contest where 1-in-2 wins! You may challenge a friend or choose to be automatically paired with another RotoPlay member. Your job is to draft one NBA player from each of the seven groups presented. Each of the players you select will accumulate RotoPlay points during the contest. Your goal is to utilize your fantasy GM skills to build a team that accumulates the most points. Score more points than your opponent and you win $45! It's that easy.
Cost
- $24.95 per entry (Maximum of five (5) entries per registered member per contest)
Your Picks
Prior to 7:00 PM EST of each contest, you must select a player from each of the groups presented in order to complete your entry. You may change your picks at any time up until the deadline by visiting the "My Account" section of the site.
Note: If you challenge a friend, please make sure your friend completes their game selections prior to the entry deadline. If your friend does not beat the deadline you will automatically be matched up with another member.
Note: Please be sure to enter each contest as early as possible. If there are an odd number of total entries from all participants for a given contest, the last person to enter will not be eligible to play that particular contest, and will receive a credit of $24.95 in their account, valid for future Face Off contests or any other contest.
Scoring System
Final results will be posted the day after each contest. The chart below outlines how you earn points.
Players
- Each point scored = 1 Point
- Each assist = 1 Point
- Each offensive rebound = 2 Points
- Each defensive rebound = 1 Point
- Each steal = 3 Points
- Each blocked shot = 3 Points
- Each 3-point field goal = 1 Point
Tiebreakers
If both participants tie for the highest amount of total RotoPlay points, the following tiebreakers below will be used to determine who wins the contest:
- Group 7 is designated as the wild card group. If a tie exists, the participant's player who scores the most points in this group wins.
- If a tie still exists, the participant with the closest prediction of the total points scored for the game identified wins
- If a tie still exists, a random drawing will determine which participant wins
For example, Group 7 includes Dirk Nowitzki and Kobe Bryant. Participant #1 picks Nowitzki, who scores 40 points. Participant #2 picks Bryant, who scores 35 points. Participant #1 wins the tiebreaker.
